Agree about kouyate
Hard working and very reliable. Even got goals in him.

So he didnt play very well against Swansea? But who did?

One of the first players to pick, tbf!

Kouyate has been pretty good this season. I don't know what all this "not as good as last season" stuff is all about. It was only yesterday he had a well below par game. Wasn't he a candidate for MOTM in the last game or two before Swansea?

I'm quite happy considering we have had 3 consecutive goalless draws.

With the injury crisis we have at the moment we can't be too upset - in the past we would have crumbled like a digestive in similar circumstances.

When the fabulous 4 come back at 100% -Lanzini,Payet,Sakho and Valencia we will be flying especially with Song getting less rusty by the week.

Looking forward to second half of season!

sven..correct re terry, his 'saves' were so blatant a coupel of years ago - i think he even started to laugh when officials did not give any penalties

Been a great first half of the season. Sitting in 8th right now with 2 winnable games coming up. That could get us close to the Top 4 again just as more of our 1st team is returning.

2 defeats in the last 14 league games. 6 key players to return. great first half of the season.

Re: Swansea v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-0
I hope I am not too biased but I think the ref was right not to give a pen against Ginge.
It was a genuine block attempt and his arm was almost behind him.
When players spread themselves and block with their arms above their heads or spread wide I can understand a pen but not there.
Terry and Carragher particularly used to do starfish saves regularly and were never penalised.
The Williams one he effectively fell on the ball and that was prob right too.
To be honest Swansea sound a bit desperate. 680 passes and 2 shots on target. I think we have discovered THEIR problem.

I don't think its a confidence thing. They all seemed to be following instructions it was so regimented yesterday

'Kouyate has struggled to find last seasons form. Few times yesterday he had a chance to run at them and turn back into a Swansea player, looks a confidence thing.'

It's not confidence, he's just not as good as everyone made out. Myself and one other poster suggested at the start of the season that he might struggle in a more technical team, and that appears to be the case.

Without appearing paranoid (just because you are not paranoid doesn't mean their not out to get you !) but...

lots of media reports and pundits mentioning how unlucky Swansea were due tothe Collins handball... but didn't Williams handle it too when tackling Antonio? No mention anywhere of that? Either both are given or neither?

Btw, we were dreadful and negative but Swansea hardly mustered a decent chance in 90 mins from 70% posession. The possession game is so passe ;-) Its all about pacy counter attacks... shame we have 2 forwards who are cart hours and 3 of teh 4 who struggle to hit the proverbial "cows ar*e" :-(

Kouyate has struggled to find last seasons form. Few times yesterday he had a chance to run at them and turn back into a Swansea player, looks a confidence thing.

Superb seeing Song on the ball, never panics at all, much mire to come from him.

I love the fact we're hard to beat at the min, 2nd half of the season when the big guns are back will be very exciting.

Carters - When you look at money spent over the last 3 or 4 years, atttendances etc, 8th is where we should be, I don't know why that impresses you so much?

You would have had a stroke if you were a Leicester fan.

My issue is just look where we are 8th FFS.
But, I do take your point there was a lack of spark there yesterday
Time for young Oxford I think.????????????
Also, Camel suggests Carroll and Jelavich are milk floats!!.
I didn't think they are that quick....

Re: Swansea v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-0
Any side that loses most of it's offensive midfield and first choice striker is going to struggle in this league. So the fact we have drawn our last three games and kept three clean sheets is testament to those who have played. Thought Ginge was MotM yesterday. He was solid.
